3 Ways to Cut Heating Costs and Stay Warm

Cold weather is upon us and will be for a few more months. Now is a great time to have your furnace checked. In most cases the savings the checkup creates will pay for itself. A dirty burner or filter will cause your furnace to run harder and longer, which cost more to operate. Here are three reasons to have a furnace tune-up now:

1) Furnace tune-ups can save lives:

If you don’t properly maintain your furnace, you may be vulnerable to carbon monoxide poisoning, which can be deadly.

Carbon monoxide is a toxic gas that can’t be detected by any of your five senses. If your furnace has not been regularly maintained, it could be creating dangerous levels of this deadly gas.

During a furnace tune-up, a heating technician will clean your furnace’s parts and check for any cracks, which will help prevent incomplete combustion (the cause of carbon monoxide).

2) Furnace tune-ups save you money:

By tuning up your furnace’s internal components, such as proper combustion, you’ll make sure it’s as energy efficient as possible. When your furnace is energy efficient, it lowers energy consumption and therefore saves you money on your energy bill.

3) Furnace tune-ups prevent breakdowns:

No one wants to be without heat, so have it tuned-up now. Also, waiting till your furnace breaks will cost you more money than if you have it tuned annually. Avoid the inconvenience and high costs of furnace breakdowns by getting an annual furnace tune-up.

Don’t wait until it’s too late, we have several months left that your furnace will be running.
